I'm sure you noticed by now when you post a link on Facebook, sometimes an image shows up and sometimes there isn't one there. And sometimes you have your choice of images to pick from.
As far as game sites go this is essential. If you have people sharing the link to a game page on your site on Facebook, you want to make sure that they are also including an image of the game. <!--more-->
It is easy, just add something like this in the header:
<link rel='image_src' href='<a href="view-source:http://topfivegames.com/images/Pogo_Swing.jpg">http://topfivegames.com/images/Pogo_Swing.jpg</a>' />
This is something code you put in your like meta data. You can an example in the source code of this page, below:
Here is an example of what you want to happen:
<a href="http://mikeedla.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Screen-shot-2011-02-18-at-4.12.22-PM.png"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-214" title="Pogo Swing on Facebook" src="http://mikeedla.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Screen-shot-2011-02-18-at-4.12.22-PM-300x82.png" alt="" width="300" height="82" /></a>
Here is an example of it not working:
<a href="http://mikeedla.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Screen-shot-2011-02-18-at-4.14.31-PM.png"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-215" title="Justin Bieber Hair Defense on Lead Pipe Games" src="http://mikeedla.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Screen-shot-2011-02-18-at-4.14.31-PM-300x73.png" alt="" width="300" height="73" /></a>
Enjoy and your welcome.
